Jo-Anne L.A. Kahan
Jo-Anne began her law career in 2007 and practices in the area of Family Law, Wills and Estates. She is one of a select few lawyers in British Columbia acting as Amicus Curiae to the court in Interjurisdictional Support Orders proceedings and Divorce provisional orders.
Prior to undertaking the study of law, Jo-Anne’s professional experience included various positions with the BC government, Assistant Executive Director for the Lower Nicola Indian Band, office manager of a 220-bed extended care facility; and ownership of a research consulting firm where she provided a range of government, business, and non-profit clients with advice in strategic planning, marketing, policy planning and business development.
Jo-Anne’s community service includes serving as a board member for minor hockey associations, Beacon Community Services, Kobe Aboriginal Children and Youth Society and the Independent Living Housing Society.
In her free time she enjoys oil painting, studying towards her fine art degree, boating and fishing.
