Danni
Danni is a senior designated paralegal assisting partner James Legh since 2002, after graduating from CDI College with her Legal Office Administration Certificate in 2000. Her outstanding performance won her the Linda Barnes Award in 2009, which is presented by the Victoria Bar Association to reward proven excellence, professional courtesy and longstanding devotion in the service of their employer, the Victoria legal community and/or the Victoria Bar Association. Born in Texas, Danni grew up in Victoria. Before joining SLL, she worked at Gordon & Velletta, Burns Registry Services, and Salmond Ashurst. Danni spends her “free” time with her husband and works at her other full-time job: mother to Hunter and Zoey.
Denise
Denise began her career as a legal assistant in 1985 in the fields of family and estates. In 2015, she was introduced to an immigration practice. Previous roles at other law firms have contributed to her knowledge of the legal industry. These experiences have also helped her to adapt easily to the varied working styles of Zachary Burrill and Jo-Anne Kahan.
Dorothy
With over 30 years of experience in the legal industry, Dorothy is a senior legal assistant currently heading our corporate and conveyancing departments. She works closely with many business clients of various sizes assisting with purchasing selling and maintaining federal or provincial corporations and societies, helping them advance their business goals. Before joining Stevenson Luchies & Legh, Dorothy had the opportunity to work for other firms in Ontario and British Columbia. In addition to her corporate experience, Dorothy has worked extensively in other areas, including real estate, litigation and estate planning.
Julie
Julie graduated as a legal assistant in 1997 and has worked alongside partner James Legh since 2009. Her wealth of knowledge and attention to detail are remarkable and an invaluable asset to the firm. Julie’s calm demeanor and expertise in the legal field allow her to guide clients through the different aspects and stages of legal processes.
Leni
Leni is legal assistant to Jon A.C. Stewart and Grant N. Smith. She enjoys a variety of work in several different areas of law. Her role primarily entails working on family law litigation projects, drafting Financial Statements, Affidavits, as well as other pleadings and document production. Leni graduated from the Legal Office Assistant Program at Camosun College. She speaks fluently in Spanish and English. She is passionate about providing exceptional customer service and is committed to ensuring each client’s individual legal needs are met.
Pamela
Pam has been the bookkeeper for our firm for over 20 years. She brings over 30 years experience in the legal profession working both as a legal assistant and as a bookkeeper. Pam’s commerce and legal assistant background has enabled her to setup an efficient and a accurate bookkeeping system for our firm. Her experience, efficiency and dedication are admired and appreciated by all those that work with her.
Ricci
Ricci is a senior paralegal with decades of experience. She joined Stevenson Luchies and Legh in early 2019 and works alongside Catherine McGhie.
Sandra
Sandra (Sandee) has worked with us for 20 years. Having a background in media operations, administration and animal healthcare, she brings extensive knowledge in organization and public relations to her receptionist role. During her time with us, she has filled different roles on a temporary basis, which gives her insight into the different aspects of the firm. In her free time, she can be found pampering her spoiled rescue dog, planning neighbourhood events, or booking her next travel adventure.
Barbara
Barbara began her legal assistant’s career in 1987 and joined Stevenson Luchies & Legh in 2015. She assists Braden Greaves and Deanna Rivers. She applies her impressive expertise and attention to detail to help clients through complicated legal procedures.
Jadine
Jadine is a Huu-ay-aht first nation’s woman from Victoria, British Columbia. She completed her legal administration certificate in 2006 at Sprott-Shaw Community College. Jadine has 13 years’ experience working in the legal field as a legal assistant and began working with Jon Stewart at Stevenson Luchies & Legh in 2008. Her main area of expertise is in family law. She works very hard behind the scenes for all Jon Stewart’s family law clients. In 2019, Jadine was elevated to the title designated paralegal.
Janice
Janice is a senior paralegal and leads partner Tyler Luchies’ team since 2012. With over 30 years in the legal field Janice has a wealth of knowledge in the field of family law. A natural communicator, Janice uses her extensive expertise to guide prospective and current clients through the different stages of family law proceedings.
Kirsten
Legal Assistant (On maternity leave)
With over 9 years of experience in the legal industry, Kirsten works with lawyers Braden Greaves and Deanna Rivers. She uses her considerable expertise to assist clients and other members of the team. She joined Stevenson Luchies & Legh in 2014.
Leah
Leah has worked in the legal field for 25 years and is at the completion of her Paralegal Certificate. Before joining SLL, she worked with the Attorney General in Court Services and other private law firms for 15 years. As a senior legal assistant to Albert Berns, she uses her wealth of experience in all areas of law, including personal injury, construction, estates, development, and municipal matters to the benefit of her lawyer’s practice and the firm. She enjoys taking part in motorsports, racing, travelling, and spending time with her family.
Melissa
Melissa graduated with her Legal Assistant Certificate in 2012 and joined Stevenson Luchies & Legh in 2015. She works alongside lawyer Justin Hanson, assisting him and his clients throughout the different stages and aspects of strata law cases. Melissa possesses invaluable attention to detail, organizational skills, and communicational abilities that fundamentally contribute to the high standards of service we strive for.
Shauna
Shauna works with Tyler Luchies, as a junior legal assistant. She started her career as a medical office assistant for a busy general practitioner’s office of five doctors, later moving into the fast-paced world of software development. After taking a parental leave of absence to raise her Autistic son Shauna joined the firm of Stevenson Luchies & Legh as a junior assistant expanding her knowledge in the legal profession. In her spare time, Shauna enjoys the world of the outdoors with her family as well as learning new handcrafting skills.
Sheryl
Sheryl is the legal assistant to Martin O. Screech in the Nanaimo office of Stevenson Luchies Legh. She brings over 25 years of experience in the legal profession to her current role including family law and criminal law. Her previous role as a legal assistant at a Nanaimo law firm for the last 24 years has contributed to her extensive knowledge of the legal industry.
Stephanie
Stephanie graduated from Camosun College in 2005 with the highest grade point average and received the Legal Secretary Bursary Award. Her 15 years of experience as a legal assistant in personal injury and criminal law, plus her organizational and administrative skills, are valuable assets for the team at our West Shore office. She assists lawyer Albert Berns, working closely with paralegal Leah in all matters relating to debt, construction, real estate, and personal injury.
Susanne
Susanne joined Stevenson Luchies and Legh in 2021 and assists Sunny Tathgar.
Tara
Stephanie is a junior assistant to partner James Legh, working closely with Julie and Danni.
