I moved to Victoria from Ontario in 1978 to begin a long and varied career as a legal assistant. I grew up as a military brat living in British Columbia, Quebec, Colorado, and Ontario.
I have worked in the legal community in Victoria for four decades. My experience includes corporate and business law, real estate, estate planning and administration, and aboriginal law. I spent most of my career at a large downtown firm in Victoria and now enjoy being part of a smaller though equally dynamic and effective law firm. It has been quite a journey from typewriters and carbon paper to computers and paperless offices!
Throughout my career I have worked to enhance office effectiveness through clear communication and interaction with clients. I feel a great sense of accomplishment assisting clients with their various legal needs and have made many good friends along the way.
Outside of work I focus on hiking, reading, spending time with my grandchildren, and riding my new e-bike around Victoria.

With over 30 years of experience in the legal industry, Dorothy is a senior legal assistant currently heading our corporate department. She works closely with many business clients of various sizes assisting with purchasing selling and maintaining federal or provincial corporations and societies, helping them advance their business goals. Before joining Stevenson Luchies & Legh, Dorothy had the opportunity to work for other firms in Ontario and British Columbia. In addition to her corporate experience, Dorothy has worked extensively in other areas, including real estate, litigation and estate planning.

Born and raised in the Greater Victoria area, I love our city and have a strong sense of community. I have always enjoyed volunteering and helping others, and I look forward to being in a position where I can help you as well.
At Stevenson Luchies & Legh, I have been developing my skills in civil litigation, wills and estates, corporate law, and real estate transactions (conveyancing). I am so lucky to be part of such a great team and get to meet our amazing clients.
Working downtown has given me the opportunity to experience firsthand the vibrant history of British Columbia’s capital and explore the variety of local businesses and diverse cuisines of Victoria’s restaurants.

Jaclyn is a legal assistant to partner Tyler Luchies, working closely with Janice. She started her career working in municipal litigation and personal injury before joining our firm. In her spare time, Jaclyn enjoys crafting, reading and exploring the island with her husband.

Sandra (Sandee) has worked with us for 20 years. Having a background in media operations, administration and animal healthcare, she brings extensive knowledge in organization and public relations to her receptionist role. After having filled different roles on a temporary basis, which gives her insight into the different aspects of the firm, Sandra is now our Office Manager. In her free time, she can be found pampering her spoiled rescue dog, planning neighbourhood events, or booking her next travel adventure.
