I have represented clients at all levels of court in British Columbia and am proud of my excellent record.
Before entering law, I worked in software development for leading video game and Internet-based gaming companies. I’m credited with senior technical roles on many “AAA” video games, including the Dawn of War II franchise, Company of Heroes: Tales of Valor, and Space Marine.
I hold the degree of Juris Doctor from the University of Victoria. I obtained a Master of Arts in Classical Archaeology from the University of British Columbia as well as a Bachelor of Arts with Honours (First Class) in Classical Studies and a Minor in History. My archaeological adventures have included excavations of Greek, Roman, and Byzantine sites, and travel throughout Italy, Greece, Turkey, Tunisia, Britain, China, and Korea.
I am involved in the local community and am currently active on the boards of several organizations: Craigdarroch Castle Historical Museum Society (Vice-President), Victoria Heritage Foundation, and Treasurer of the Victoria Bar Association (Treasurer).
I am also an Adjunct Professor and Sessional Instructor at the University of Victoria, where I have for the past few years been teaching LAW 317: Real Property Transactions and LAW 320: Wills, Estates & Succession Planning.

I moved to Victoria from Ontario in 1978 to begin a long and varied career as a legal assistant. I grew up as a military brat living in British Columbia, Quebec, Colorado, and Ontario.
I have worked in the legal community in Victoria for four decades. My experience includes corporate and business law, real estate, estate planning and administration, and aboriginal law. I spent most of my career at a large downtown firm in Victoria and now enjoy being part of a smaller though equally dynamic and effective law firm. It has been quite a journey from typewriters and carbon paper to computers and paperless offices!
Throughout my career I have worked to enhance office effectiveness through clear communication and interaction with clients. I feel a great sense of accomplishment assisting clients with their various legal needs and have made many good friends along the way.
Outside of work I focus on hiking, reading, spending time with my grandchildren, and riding my new e-bike around Victoria.
